The Yule Log is a timeless Christmas dessert, and when enriched with Sheridan’s Coffee Layered Liqueur, it becomes even more indulgent. The combination of chocolate sponge, cream, and ganache creates a show-stopping centrepiece.
This dessert brings a playful nod to Christmas vodka cocktails, adding a spirited layer to the traditional recipe. Decorated with icing sugar, holly, or berries, it’s as festive to look at as it is to eat.
🎄 Ingredients
4 large eggs
100g caster sugar
100g plain flour
25g cocoa powder
300ml double cream, whipped
100ml Sheridan’s Coffee Layered Liqueur
200g dark chocolate
200ml double cream (for ganache)
Icing sugar, holly, or berries (for decoration)
🥄 Method
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a Swiss roll tin.
Whisk eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
Fold in flour and cocoa powder gently.
Bake for 12 minutes, then turn out onto sugared baking paper and roll up while warm.
Allow to cool, then unroll and spread with whipped cream mixed with Sheridan’s.
Roll up again and cover with chocolate ganache made from melted dark chocolate and cream.
Decorate with icing sugar, holly sprigs, or festive berries. Chill before slicing.
